RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:

Web Design/Development and Multimedia

• Designed, developed, implemented and maintained Alberta Vocational College's (AVC) Intranet and web site from concept to completion including HTML, original graphics and illustrations, image maps, digital photos, animations, tables, links and integrated databases
• Developed and maintained the Provincial Testing section of the Alberta Learning web site (in English and the French mirror site) and Extranet as above; designed and developed necessary subsections for online publications; chaired and coordinated the Interpreting the Results Working Group for the Learner Assessment Branch to conceptualize, plan and develop its subsite from concept to completion including javascript, Flash animation and actionscript
• Designed and created color on-screen displays, graphics, short animations (Director and Authorware) and QuickTime videos on the Mac (and converted final components to Windows for dual platform delivery) in developing customized computer-based training (CBT) courseware and multi-media presentation kiosks
• Created storyboard, designed and authored eight, thirty-minute interactive training courses (using Authorware) for American Airlines (International Headquarters)
• Produced audio files/narrative for CBT development and interactive courseware
• Created, converted and integrated various audio/ visual /motion software files to achieve the above
• Designed and created onscreen advertising displays for interactive multimedia kiosks in shopping malls (created Photoshop images animated in Flash for delivery via Authorware)
• Developed curriculum and instructed in-house courses for AVC staff on web development for Intranet and Internet sites
• Re-designed structure, navigation and appearance of two smaller websites
• Acted as Chair of AVC's Intra/Internet Advisory Group for 4 months
• Researched hardware and software specifications for third-parties and advised accordingly
• Captured video images and photos; enhanced/altered and reproduced to client requirements
• Utilized and interchanged available resources (Mac & IBM hardware & peripherals) to produce special effects in customized software

Print Media

• Designed and produced marketing materials (tradeshow display panels & accompanying datasheets, 4-color magazine & Yellow Pages advertisements, corporate presentation folders, brochures, flyers, postcards, business cards, corporate logos, posters, interior signage, and overhead transparencies); contracted photographers as required
• Designed and illustrated camera-ready artwork for the above (electronically on Mac/Windows and manually)
• Advised management on cost-effective production options (press vs. digital, materials, timelines)
• Calibrated, ordered supplies and maintained large digital laser printers (Xerox and Canon); ran jobs as required
• Designed and illustrated to-scale artwork for sales presentations and manufacturing of outdoor illuminated signage (neon, plexiglass facia, channel-lettering and free-standing pylon structures) as well as mounted & framed final display and applied airbrushed finish to simulate neon effects
• Designed and produced camera-ready artwork for publication in training manuals and information display systems by hand and through the use of computers
• Designed layout and illustrated graphics, logos, cartoon characters & treated photos for the above
• Created concepts, layouts, specified type, and completed mechanicals for manual paste-up of posters, brochures and training manuals
